FIELD: stand-by heaters of heating systems for apartment houses and industrial buildings. SUBSTANCE: device has housing with inlet and outlet pipe connections that accommodates heating element with drillings on external side and header with holes communicating with heating element. Device is available in single- and three-phase design versions. Liquid to be heated is fed to electric heater header and through its holes it flows to housing in radial direction to heating element over its surface. Velocity of liquid flow over heating element is set to be higher than mean service velocity in space confined between header and heating element ensuring nucleate boiling of liquid in heating element drillings and escape of bubbles beyond this space; such motion of liquid in drillings prevents formation of dryout spots. EFFECT: eliminated scale formation. 4 cl, 4 dwg
