FIELD: shutting-off and control of flow rates of liquid and gaseous media including abrasive, aggressive and explosive media in pipe line fittings. SUBSTANCE: straight-flow cock has body made in form of body of revolution with longitudinal through passage for flow of working medium and coaxial circular slot where sealing unit is located. Sealing unit consists of at least two flexible sealing rings which are engageable with body and stack of perforated disks for flow of working medium. One disk is swivel and other disks are fixed which are secured by means of locking device. Drive includes circular member with handle received by slot and connected with swivel disk. Handle extends outside through radial slot available in body. Cock body is sectional in construction; it consists of two side disk-shaped parts which are coaxial relative to longitudinal axis of body and are provided with straight-way holes for flow of medium; body is also provided with circular part fitted between side parts. When these parts are connected by means of coupling device, they form longitudinal passage and circular slot. Maximum diameter of body Dm satisfies the following relation-ship: Dm ≤ (D-d1), where Dm is diameter of circle on which axes of bolts of flanged joint lie; diameter of bolts of flanged joint. Disks of sealing unit are provided with n0 (n0 = 2,3,4...) similar holes which are made radially and symmetrically. Circular part of body has one or several radial slots which are used for turning handles of drive through angle α0 = 360°/(2n0). Control of flow rate of medium with the aid of handle is effected at α0 < α1 or n1 < 2•n0, where α1 = 360°/n1 is central angle between adjacent bolts and n1 is number of bolts of flanged joint. Fixed disk located on side of delivery of medium and (or) swivel disk of stack possess lower stiffness (lesser thickness or lesser modulus of elasticity) as compared with remaining disks. Circular member of drive form joint together with swivel disk which is axially movable; its outer surfaces are engageable with body forming sliding bearing; locking device, for example pin-type is mounted on side disk-shaped parts of body.
