FIELD: semiconductor lasers. SUBSTANCE: laser stabilizing method includes determining heterodyne beat tone by optical mixing of optical cavity leakage field and frequency-modulated output signal of semiconductor laser and determining phase of heterodyne beat tone by mixing heterodyne beat tone in quadrature with radio-frequency reference signal. In addition, definite phase of heterodyne beat tone is filtered off and semiconductor laser is modulated by means of definite scaled phase of heterodyne beat tone and radio-frequency reference modulation signal. Such arrangement makes it possible to develop feedback control system compatible with high-quality cavities but independent of them. EFFECT: reduced width of spectral radiation line, increased service life at steady frequency. 14 cl, 6 dwg
