SUBSTANCE: method involves measuring parameters of ampelographic factors; coding them; summing up codes of factors of maturing stage, number of leaf lobes, depth of leaf division, grape bunch size and berry shape, and summing up and correlating codes of factors of leaf downiness and grape bunch density, with partial of division of first group code sum by second group factor codes sum being within the range of 3.8-5.2. Method allows directed choosing of parent pairs with required selected feature to be effectuated, large berry seedling yield percentage for each crossing pair to be forecast and low-yielding parent pairs to be preliminarily rejected.
