FIELD: sorbents. SUBSTANCE: sorbents for isolation of metals from waste waters and exhausted solutions from different-production enterprises are prepared by contacting dispersed inert carrier with reactive aqueous solution containing soluble metal ion salt, organic compound with thioamide group, potassium or sodium hydroxide, and ammonia, contact being accomplished by way of percolation and retention of the reactive solution for a specified time within the bulk of carrier at temperature from -5 to 0 C. As soluble salt, utilizable are chlorides, sulfates, nitrates or acetates of p- and d-metals such as lead(II), manganese(II), iron(II), iron(III), copper(II) and Zinc(II). Method allows formation of metal sulfide film containing 80-90% of total amount of metal contained in initial reactive solution.
