FIELD: building materials industry, more particularly manufacture of light-weight aggregate from mixture of clay stock and ash from heat-electric power stations. SUBSTANCE: raw mix comprises high-melting ash from electric power stations and production additive which is essentially plasticizer which is flux-forming and evolves gas in the form of homogeneous colloidal suspension composed of three ingredients by dry matter: peat, 20%; commonly found loams, 20% and lime sifting resulting from crushed stone production, 60%, ratios of components being as follows, wt %: high-melting ash, 75-90; and additive, 10-25. EFFECT: greater strength of expanded clay aggregate and higher content ash in raw mix. 2 tbl
