FIELD: chemical industry, more particularly technology of chlorination of paraffin hydrocarbons with gaseous chlorine. SUBSTANCE: chlorination is carried out in continuous mode in counterflow column sectionized reactor in the presence of chain process initiators. Counterflow reactor is composed of five sections provided with gas distributor, outer attached heat exchanger and overflow pipe for discharging reaction mixture. Diameter to height ratio of sections is 1:2.2. Liquid phase is fed continuously from reactor top and discharged from below. Reaction heat is taken off in outer attached heat exchanger of each section with reaction mixture circulating naturally. Chlorination of liquid paraffin hydrocarbons is carried out at 85-120 C and at atmospheric pressure, and chlorination of solid paraffin hydrocarbons is carried out in carbon tetrachloride solution at temperature of 20-85 C and pressure by 30-50 kPa higher than atmospheric pressure, thus making equipment more efficient and production methods simpler. EFFECT: more efficient chlorination method. 5 cl, 1 dwg, 2 tbl
