FIELD: machine engineering, possibly rotation units of different type devices and mechanisms, particularly bearing units of high-speed turbomachines such as gas turbocompressors. SUBSTANCE: double-side gasodynamic axial bearing assembly includes two thrust bearings with pin between them and helical grooves on surfaces of thrust bearings turned to pin. Inclination direction of groove angles on surfaces of both thrust bearings are mutually opposite relative to their central symmetry plane. Such structure allows to use (without changing dimensions of bearing assembly) large working gaps. EFFECT: comparatively non-strict accuracy demands at making working surfaces of bearing units, reduced size of bearing assembly and increased total carrying capability of bearing assembly at the same working gap values and size of bearing assembly. 4 dwg
