DUPLICATED ELECTRIC FAN Russian patent published in 2001 - IPC

Abstract RU 2174195 C1

FIELD: manufacture of fans; temperature control systems of cryogenic stages. SUBSTANCE: duplicated electric fan has housing with main and standby electric mounted coaxially inside it; it also includes impeller with blades on cylindrical shell which is located between electric motors and is connected with shaft of standby electric motor by means of centrifugal clutch. Driven clutch member is mounted immovably relative to impeller on inner surface of cylindrical shell and drive clutch member is mounted on shaft of standby electric motor and is provided with weights and flexible members. Impeller is provided with hub rigidly secured on shaft of main electric motor; hub and edge of cylindrical shell the nearest to main electric motor are connected by means of wall; drive clutch member is made in the form of thin-walled sleeve located in cavity formed by wall, hub, butt end of standby electric motor and inner surface of cylindrical shell; sleeve is provided with n (n = 2, 3, etc.) meridional slots on side the nearest to wall; flexible members are made in the form of n tabs formed by slots and weights are fitted immovably on free ends of tabs. EFFECT: reduction of axial overall dimensions and mass; simplified construction. 1 dwg
