FIELD: mechanical engineering. SUBSTANCE: bearing may be used in rotary assemblies of different instruments and mechanisms. Bearing has two thrust bearings, one of which is immovable in axial direction, and vertical journal rotating between them and forming operating clearances together with thrust bearings. Surfaces of thrust bearings facing the vertical journal are provided with spiral grooves. Bearing includes operating clearance adjusting device with rotation frequency feedback. The second thrust bearing positioned on side of axial force action is made movable in axial direction. Angle of slop of spiral grooves of movable thrust bearing is opposite to that of immovable thrust bearing grooves. Nozzles of gas supercharging into operating clearances positioned in smooth zone of bearing on vertical journal communicate with compressed-air source by means of pneumatic line through electropneumatic valve connected to operating clearance adjusting device electrically. Bearing prevents "dry" friction between operating surfaces at moments of machine starting and stopping. EFFECT: enhanced carrying capacity of bearing. 9 dwg
