FIELD: district and distributed heating systems of buildings. SUBSTANCE: tube medium collector chambers can be made rectangular, with cylindrical or cylindrical-and-conical branch pipes provided with water samplers for checking hardness of water and for bleeding air from heat exchanger at its filling up with water. Provision is made for removal of water at shutting down, connection to system, connection of pressure gauges for checking pressure during operation of heat exchanger. Equipment provides acceptance tests, investigation tests, heat tests, hydraulic, comparison, certification and other tests of heat exchangers. Use of ball joints on tube medium chambers excludes heavy and lowering operations and mounting of heavy parts of weight exceeding 100 kg in repairs and maintenance service of heat exchanger. Compact shell-and-tube heat exchanger features low labour input in manufacturing and operation and reduced hydraulic resistance owing to unification of number of parts.
