FIELD: electrical engineering, multipurpose contact-free AC electric motors with smooth adjustment of rotational speed or rate of movement of armature. SUBSTANCE: synchronous-asynchronous electric motor with short-circuited winding of rotor also has stator with phase windings. Rotor is manufactured from package of ferromagnetic material and turns and sections of its short-circuited winding are placed in parallel or in symmetry to its longitudinal axis. Additional amplitude change providing for transfer of controlled energy from stator to rotor under synchronous operational mode and determining rotational speed is introduced to feed supply voltage to phase windings of stator. EFFECT: provision for smooth adjustment of rotational speed or rate of translation of rotor of proposed electric motor under synchronous and asynchronous operational modes within wide range, enhanced efficiency of motor, widened application field of such motors. 1 cl, 9 dwg
