FIELD: agricultural engineering. SUBSTANCE: conveyor-root cleaner has cylindrical cleaning chamber 1 with charging and discharge windows 2,3 and longitudinal slot. Grid 5 is mounted in slot, and cleaning member 6 made in the form of cylindrical brush is positioned under grid 5. Rods of cylindrical brush are lowered into cleaning chamber 1. Auger 4 with grid-type helical coil is positioned inside housing. Plane extending through centers of cleaning member 6 and longitudinal slot and vertical plane extending through center of auger 4 are positioned at an acute angle one with respect to the other in direction of rotation of auger 4. Drum radius and rod length ratio meet requirement of ω <0.8 h, where ω is rotational speed of cylindrical brush, rad/s; p is first natural oscillating frequency of rod, rad/s. EFFECT: reduced power consumable for cleaning process, increased service life of working members and improved quality of end product by reduced damage to roots. 2 dwg
