FIELD: chemical industry, particularly, preparation of thermoelectro and/or sound insulation. SUBSTANCE: gel composition comprises SiO₂, TiO₂, Al₂O₃ gel or mixture thereof, and carbonic component, e.g. carbon black, carbon fiber, activated carbon, graphite or mixture thereof. At least one organic group is attached to carbonic component. Organic group comprises at least one aromatic group, e.g. sulfophenyl, p-sulfophenyl group, salts or mixtures thereof, or C₁-C₁₂ alkyl group, and also at least one ionic group, and at least one ionizing group. Ionic or ionizing group includes carboxylic, sulfonic, ethanesulfonic acids or salts thereof, quaternary ammonium salt or mixtures thereof. Carbonic component is present in amount of 1-99 wt %. Gel compositions are bonded solid compounds, have higher resistance to attrition are bonded solid compounds, have higher resistance to attrition, mechanical strength and chemical resistance.
