FIELD: industrial inorganic synthesis. SUBSTANCE: invention aims at production of basic aluminum chloride used in production of drinking-quality water, therapeutic preparations, and perfumery and cosmetic products. Basic ammonium chloride is prepared by evaporating its aqueous solution with Al/Cl atomic ratio (0.7-2.0): 1 at 60-100 C to produce melt with viscosity 20 to 100 cPs. Melt is dried at 40-60 C in 2-10-mm layer and then cooled at cooling rate 5-10 C/min. EFFECT: increased yield of product and simplified process. 2 tbl
