FIELD: ferrous metallurgy; making high-strength steels for sawing disks used in cold cutting of rolled stock. SUBSTANCE: proposed steel contains the following components, mass-%: carbon, 0.80 to 0.90; silicon, 0.15 to 0.35; manganese, 0.40 to 0.70; chromium, 0,50 to 0.80; vanadium, 0.10 to 0.30; molybdenum, 0.10 to 0.25; tungsten, 0.005 to 0.04; calcium, 0.001 to 0.30; titanium, 0.005 to 0.010; nitrogen, 0.005 to 0.015; iron, remainder. Amount of admixtures is limited in steel in the following ratios, mass-%: sulfur, not exceeding 0.010; phosphor, not exceeding 0.015; nickel, 0.01 to 0.10; copper, 0.01 to 0.10; aluminum, 0.005 to 0.035.
