SUBSTANCE: device has memory unit, which stores decoded current frame data, buffer, which stores picture element data with given coordinates, device, which filters picture element data with given coordinates, device, which adds given threshold value to picture element data with given coordinates in order to produce upper limit value. In addition device has unit, which compares filtered data to upper limit value in order to produce first selection signal, first selection unit, which responds to first selection signal for selection of picture element data with given coordinates stored in buffer or filtered picture element data with given coordinates. In addition device has unit for subtraction of given threshold value from picture element data with given coordinates in order to produce lower limit value. In addition, device has second unit for comparison of data to lower limit value in order to produce second selection signal, second selection unit, which chooses picture element data with given coordinates selected in first unit. In addition device has unit, which updates data stored in memory unit by means of their substitution by filtered result. EFFECT: improved picture quality. 7 cl, 4 dwg
