SUBSTANCE: invention relates to video encoding and decoding. Disclosed is a method of in-loop filtering by performing adaptive loop filtering on a reconstructed frame of a video stream, which is implemented by an encoding device or a decoding device, comprising generating differences between a pixel of the reconstructed frame and neighboring pixels in the connected pixel region, limiting the differences according to the corresponding limiting levels, generating a weighted sum of the limited differences and adding the weighted sum to the pixel to determine the filtered pixel, wherein the corresponding limiting levels are selected from the same set of limiting levels for the luminance and chromaticity components.
EFFECT: high efficiency of encoding and decoding video.
