FIELD: medicine. SUBSTANCE: method involves applying neurosonographic examination of newborn brain during the first life week. Neurosonographic signs of morphofunctional immaturity of brain in newborn babies like transparent partition cavity, Verga cavity, lateral and III ventricles dilatation greater than 4 mm, periventricular zones hyperechogenicity are determined. The values observed for the right and left lateral ventricles are compared with their asymmetry excluded. The examination is repeated in a week. 2 to 4 signs being available, morphofunctional immaturity of brain is to be diagnosed. EFFECT: enhanced accuracy of diagnosis. 2 dwg, 2 tbl
