PERIVENTRICULAR LEUKOMALACIA DIAGNOSIS OF INFANCY WITH ISCHEMIC CEREBRAL AFFECTION Russian patent published in 2008 - IPC A61B5/00 G01N33/48 G01N33/50

Abstract RU 2325841 C1

FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the medicine and in particular to the neonatology and can be used as a tool for periventricular leukomalacia diagnosis of infancy with the ischemic cerebral affection. The following indicators should be identified: the length of anhydrous period, the duration of artificial pulmonary ventilation, oxygen saturation average figure during the first 3 days of life; potassium concentration and the relative number of monocytes during the first 5 days of life, the concentration of immunoglobulin A and M during the first 10 days of life, and body mass at birth. Each indicator should be provided with the diagnostic rate as far as information content is decreasing. Then the amount of diagnostic coefficients should be determined starting with the amendments. The decision can be taken on the periventricular leukomalacia diagnosis if the amount of diagnostic coefficients in descending order exceeds the upper threshold limit of 0.68 at a certain stage of informative analysis. It can also be taken on the lack of periventricular leukomalacia if the amount of diagnostic lower coefficients is lower than threshold which equals to -1,2. This method allows to diagnose periventricular leukomalacia on the 10th day of life. It prevents the probability of adverse neurological outcomes due to early treatment change.

EFFECT: method allows to diagnose periventricular leukomalacia on the 10th day of life.
