FIELD: materials used for damping noise radiated by vibrating sheet metal structures, such as panels of car body; panels of cabins of surface transport facilities and domestic appliances (refrigerators, washing machines, vacuum cleaners, etc.). SUBSTANCE: proposed material contains upper and lower layers of various materials having different thicknesses and specific densities and adhesive mounting layer. Both layers are vibration dampening layers; lower layer is made from load-bearing molded structure and upper layer is made from plasticized mixture applied on lower layer. Magnitudes of Young's modulus of upper and lower layers are in the following dependence: , where E2 is Young's modulus of upper layer and E1 is Young's modulus of lower layer. EFFECT: enhanced efficiency of dampening vibrations and noise of oscillating metal sheets; reduced thickness and specific surface gravity; low cost of material. 4 cl, 4 dwg
