FIELD: mechanical engineering; base members of internal combustion engines. SUBSTANCE: oil sump secured on cylinder block-and-crankcase unit is made in form of solid thin-sheet trough-type member consisting of bottom and connecting parts with plate damper placed in between. Damper is made of vibration-and-noise damping material (composite three-layer "metal-plastic-metal" material). Peripheral zones of damper are made in form of flanges to suit surface of trough-type member. Damper is secured on the latter by flanges. EFFECT: reduced noise, improved performance characteristics of automobile. 2 cl, 3 dwg
