FIELD: transport engineering; vehicles with encapsulated engine units. SUBSTANCE: engine compartment has soundproofing housing in which inlet air duct, engine compartment and outlet air duct are formed, all arranged in tandem. Drawing fan is installed in inlet air duct. Engine compartment houses internal combustion engine with developed surface of cooling ribs. Walls of air ducts are provided with noise absorbing members made in form of widening sections of walls of air ducts and accommodates noise absorbing material limited from inner side by thin smooth airtight film permeable to noise whose surface is arranged flush with air duct channel. Widening sections of walls are provided with perforations. Walls can be furnished additionally with vibration damping material with viscodamping base coated by layer of foil. Walls of engine compartment, divider plate and ribs can be perforated as well. EFFECT: reduced noise, improved heat removal from engine cylinders. 16 cl, 14 dwg
