FIELD: remote data transmission. SUBSTANCE: user sends control commands from external terminal to remote data transmission routing device. User interface device has control software, which sends commands to routing device for execution and provides user with instructions for commands. Data about types and permissible parameter ranges of commands as well as alphanumerical data concerning instructions, which are output to user, are separated from software code of control software. In addition, control software has server software unit, which is connected to said data base. Said unit responds to received test request in order to check data, which are requested from routing device by user. In response to instruction request, said server software unit generates instruction which should be output to user. EFFECT: improved adaptation of user interface device. 7 cl, 5 dwg, 1 tbl
