FIELD: pharmaceutical, confectionery, canned product, chemical, perfumery, food-processing and other special branches of industry. SUBSTANCE: method involves cutting slits in natural undergrowth; mowing, grinding and distributing ground mass of licorice vegetative buds and accompanying plants in low-productive licorice undergrowth; laying rows of planting material consisting of cuttings of four-five year aged licorice roots and rootstock of high biological potential on stubble field surface, and simultaneously making marking lines, ripped strips and inclined slits; compacting surfaces of ripped strips and inclined slits. Tillage tool has frame, hitch, carrier wheel and tines-blades with chisel on their lower ends. Each tine-blade has vertical, inclined and horizontal surfaces. Inclined and horizontal surfaces of tine-blade are laterally offset relative to vertical surface. Slitter secured to inclined surface is made in the form of shield pivotally connected to inclined surface and provided with screw mechanism allowing shield inclination angle to be adjusted. Chisel is disposed on horizontal surface. Pair of spherical disks are arranged in steps in opposed relation to inclined surface, above it, behind vertical surface of tine. Disks are mounted on frame in groups and offset to the side and backward. Auxiliary brackets on rear part of frame are pivotally connected to section of star-wheeled roll. Method and tillage tool allows wild licorice undergrowth to be effectively used as raw material in many fields. EFFECT: wider range of usages of improved licorice undergrowth, simplified method and equipment used for improvement of licorice undergrowth and increased efficiency. 3 cl, 7 dwg
