FIELD: agriculture. SUBSTANCE: method involves mowing and grinding vegetative licorice sprouts and associated plants in low- productivity association; distributing ground mass over surface of mowed massif; providing continuous advancement of slitter and tillage tool for making slits and holes over territory occupied with wild licorice plants of local ecotype and nearby lands circumferentially of each contour of associated grasses in licorice association, preferably in direction perpendicular to North-South direction, preferably in late fall period, when root layer of soil has moisture content of 70-80% of minimum moisture capacity, with diameter of holes being 0.15-0.25 m and depth being 0.08-0.15 m, and making 2-5 holes per each square meter of land; providing alignment of hole centers with mid portion of slits, with slits having width of 0.005-0.010 m and depth of 0.2-0.3 m. Slit spacing is preferably 0.8-1.2 m. Slits and holes are made by means of tillage tools having frame, suspension brackets, carrier wheels, ballast boxes, battery sections with front row disks, battery sections with rear row disks and disk angle regulating mechanisms. Disk cutters are mounted in front row disk battery sections on shafts through spools. Diameter of disks is 600-800 mm and thickness is 5-10 mm. Split spherical disks of 0.5-0.6 m diameter are mounted on shafts through spools in rear row disk sections in clearance between disk cutters. EFFECT: increased productivity of licorice brushwood, reduced material expenses by providing cutting of root and rootstock in vertical plane. 3 cl, 7 dwg
