FIELD: sugar industry. SUBSTANCE: disk-type cutter for grinding sugar beet to produce beet chips has casing with beet hopper, disk positioned in casing and provided with knife frames equipped with knives and drive, discharge funnel for beet chips and juice, and heat-exchanger for heating diffusion juice supplied into casing. Beet cutter is provided with upper and lower juice level sensors positioned in lower part of casing, juice level regulator with actuating mechanism, diffusion juice supply regulating valve connected with actuating mechanism and screw conveyor for supplying beet juice and chips mixture for diffusion. Screw conveyor is communicated with discharge funnel. Cutting of beet into chips is performed in body of water heated to 75-80 C to improve quality of juice and reduce loss of saccharose at diffusion stage. EFFECT: enhanced reliability in operation and improved quality of grinding process. 4 dwg
