FIELD: sugar industry. SUBSTANCE: method involves the gradual addition of milled lime to predefecation up to optimal alkalinity, defecation, I-saturation, filtration and II-saturation. Milled lime is added to defecation at concentration 0.5-0.8% CaO. Before the I-saturation 0.5-0.8% CaO powdered lime is added to the current of saturation gas, and the process of I-saturation is carried out with this mixture. EFFECT: increased yield of sugar (by 0.06-0.8% of beet mass).
