FIELD: aircraft manufacture; aircraft fuel system monitoring. SUBSTANCE: proposed method includes determination of present volumetric capacity of fuel in tank, angle of inclination of fuel surface in tank, determination of volumetric capacity of fuel on board aircraft. Volumetric present capacity of fuel is calculated as function of height of fuel level in tank, angle of inclination of fuel surface and geometric characteristics of tank. Geometric characteristics of tank are formed as file of coefficients describing mathematically the above-mentioned function. Fuel gauging system includes fuel tank level sensors, fuel surface inclination sensors, sensor signal conversion and normalization unit, on-board computer, tank geometric characteristics unit and summer. On-board computer realizes dependence of present volumetric capacity of fuel in tank versus level of fuel in tank, angle of inclination of fuel surface and geometric characteristics of tank. On board computer includes inclination function shaper, volume function shaper and selection and comparison unit. EFFECT: enhanced accuracy of determination of on-board fuel capacity. 8 cl, 1 dwg
