FIELD: equipment testing level and presence of fluid media in technological reservoirs and pipe-lines of various objects of metallurgical, chemical, petroleum refining and other branches of industry. SUBSTANCE: two ultrasonic waves, normal or transverse, are excited cophasally points of input located in opposition and lying on outer surface on diametrically opposite sides in plane of horizontal cross-section of pipe-line for ultrasonic test of presence of liquid in pipe- line. Wave are detected in point equally distant from points of excitation of first and second ultrasonic waves and lying on outer surface of pipe-line within limits of aperture angle at level of 0.1 of radiation pattern of each emitted ultrasonic wave, amplitude values of first and second ultrasonic waves are summed up. Summary amplitude of two ultrasonic waves is measured, is isolated within some time interval and is converted to constant voltage. Voltage is compared with specified constant voltage corresponding to certain value of continuity of fluid medium over inner surface of wall of pipe-line. Difference signal used to evaluate presence of liquid in tested zone of pipe-line is formed by comparison results. EFFECT: increased authenticity and precision of measurements. 2 cl, 2 dwg
