FIELD: geophysical investigation of boreholes. SUBSTANCE: technique involves sequential irradiation of investigated rocks by fluxes of gamma-quanta and fast neutrons with use of stationary isotope sources, measurement of flux N1 of scattered gamma radiation at fixed distance from source of gamma-quanta and subsequent evaluation of quality of magnesite ore by intensity of flux of scattered gamma radiation. Measurement of effective atomic number (Zeff), life time t of thermal neutrons and summary effective content of aluminum and silicon oxides in investigated ore is conducted in addition. With this in mind soft component N2 of scattered gamma radiation, one or several fluxes N3 of thermal neutrons and activity Na induced by isotope Al-28 are recorded. EFFECT: increased accuracy of evaluation of content of magnesium and calcium oxides. 3 cl, 2 dwg
