FIELD: welding. SUBSTANCE: device includes compensator of reactive power and balancer forming n identical modules whose reactive elements are connected via thyristor contactors to load and to vacant phase by special diagram. Device incorporates sensor of level of welding current having n outputs and connected to current transformer in primary circuit of welding transformer, pulse former synchronized with phases of network which supply inductive elements of modules whose output is connected to input of unit of phase delay of pulses. Device also has pulse formers synchronized with phases of network which supply capacitive elements of modules and are connected in parallel to corresponding thyristor contactors, unit controlling mentioned modules made of n similar channels. Each channel incorporates three synchronous flip-flops whose outputs are connected to units controlling thyristor contactors of corresponding module and tied-together information inputs of flip-flops of each channel are linked to proper output of sensor of level of welding current. In this case tied-together clock inputs of one of flip-flop of each channel are connected to output of unit of phase delay of pulses and clock inputs of two other flip-flops of each channel are connected to outputs of corresponding pulse formers synchronized with phases of network which supply capacitive elements of corresponding module.
