FIELD: contact butt welding processes and equipment, namely apparatus for contact butt welding of rails. SUBSTANCE: machine has housing in the form of pair of tong clamps; each clamp has two jaws mutually joined by means of articulation joint with use of common axle and joined by means of clamping cylinder through cross piece with system of hinged levers. Device for deburring is mounted on one tong clamp. Machine is provided with hydraulic drive for flashing and upsetting with electromechanical servosystem and with two welding transformers. Each tong clamp includes strut whose lower part is mounted on common axle. Upper part of said strut is rigidly joined with rod of clamping cylinder whose body is rigidly secured to cross piece.
