FIELD: rocketry; cryogenic stages of launch vehicles. SUBSTANCE: cryogenic stage includes two coaxial stages. Second stage has instrument bay and cruise engine which is common for both stages. It is located in inner space of droppable toroidal propellant tank of first stage and is connected with upper portion of this tank. First- stage tanks are communicated with second-stage tanks by means of propellant transfer line. Lower portion of external envelope of toroidal tank is provided with coupling units for securing the cryogenic stage to launch vehicle. EFFECT: enhanced tightness of arrangement of cryogenic stage; reduced length of stage and increased zone of payload. 1 dwg
