SUBSTANCE: proposed chain tension adjuster has housing, cover, spring-loaded plunger, oil-feed channel, check valve, step lock in form of two ring grooves with stop members on plunger and number of ring channels on inner surface of housing. Pitch of grooves is not multiple of channel pitch being described by relationship t=k+k/n where t is plunger groove pitch , k is housing channel pitch, n is number of plunger grooves.
