FIELD: cosmetics. SUBSTANCE: rigid gels containing at least 20 wt % of one or several gelation water-soluble and hydrophilic agents that can be prepared from these agents in presence of water by mixing components, agitation, compression, and extrusion in double-worm extruder. Gels are novel galenic forms intended for application in cosmetics or in dermatology. Gels are prepared in the form of sticks, pencils, or bars. They can either contain water in its gel lattice matrix or they can be in waterless form with matrix formed by dehydrated gel lattice. Solid gel products are used for maquillage and/or for treating skin, hair, or mucous membranes. They are stable, homogeneous and not sticking on touch.
