METHOD OF PRODUCTION OF FLUORINE DERIVATIVE FULLERENS Russian patent published in 2000 - IPC

FIELD: chemical industry; production of galvanic cells; organic synthesis. SUBSTANCE: fulleren C₆₀ is mixed with CeF₄ in dry chamber. Reaction mixture is placed in nickel oblong dish and then in glass test tube in horizontal position. Test tube and oblong dish are loaded in glass thick-walled pipe whose one end is soldered up and other end is connected to evacuation system. Pipe with test tube and oblong dish inside it is placed in tube furnace is such position that part of test tube where oblong dish is located is within heating zone of furnace and open part of test tube is within cold zone. Reaction mixture is held at 10^-3 Pa and 300 to 400 C for 3 to 7 hours. Fluorination product settles in cold part of test tube. Product thus obtained contains, mass-%: C₆₀F₃₆, 81 to 88; C₆₀F₃₄, 8 to 10; C₆₀F₃₂, 2 to 7; C₆₀F₃₄O, no more than 1.5: and C₆₀F₃₆O, no more than 0.5. EFFECT: enhanced efficiency. 3 ex
