FIELD: leather industry. SUBSTANCE: offal is treated with ammonium sulfate in amount 0.3-0.8% of the weight of offal in presence of 2:1 formaldehyde-urea condensation product, after which additional deashing is effected consuming 2.0-2.5% of ammonium sulfate based on the weight of offal. Finally, skin is softened. EFFECT: reduced leather quality and reduced offal consumption. 1 tbl, 5 ex
