FIELD: wood-working industry, applicable for drying of wood and other water-containing materials. SUBSTANCE: two sealed heat-insulated chambers, with a circulating duct in the cavity of each of them accommodating a blower and an air heater, have air conduits interconnecting the cavity for by-pass of steam successively formed in one of the chambers. The air conduits connected the regions of raised pressure of each chamber to the regions of lowered pressure of the adjacent chamber. Controlled dampers are installed in each air conduit. EFFECT: considerably reduced power consumption connected with wood drying at minium capital investments due to the use of water vapors formed at drying of one lumber pile for heating of the other pile. 3 cl, 1 dwg
