FIELD: radio engineering. SUBSTANCE: invention is proposed for transmission of information via artificial earth satellites of international system COSPAS-SARSAT to stations for information reception and processing to determine coordinates of aircraft in distress. Technical objective of invention lies in diminished probability of false operations, in increased precision of determination of coordinates of position of catastrophe and in reduced time of search for those in distress with simultaneous simplification of radio beacon design, reduced manufacturing cost and increased reliability of its operations. Recovery radio beacon includes unit for input of signal for activation of radio beacon, adder, permanent storage, time code former, parallel-to-series code converter, former of controlling voltage, transmitter of satellite channel, former of modulating signal, transmitter of homing channel, duplexer, antenna, receiver of navigation signals from Global Positioning System and/or GLONASS, on-line storage, independent power supply unit with switch-on device, unit forming signal of emergency overload. Unit for input of signal for activation of radio beacon, adder, permanent storage, time code former, parallel-to-series code converter, former of controlling voltage, former of modulating signal and on-line storage can be manufactured on base of microprocessor. Radio beacon can be equipped with remote control desk and can be placed into shock-proof and fire-resistant container. EFFECT: diminished probability of false operations, increased precision of determination of coordinates of position of catastrophe and reduced time of search for those in distress. 3 cl, 2 dwg
