FIELD: physics.

SUBSTANCE: search and rescue radio beacon has a housing, a control device, a duplexer, a receiver for receiving navigation signals from GPS and/or GLONASS system, an emergency transmitter, a drive channel transmitter, a power supply consisting of an autonomous power supply unit connected through a voltage selector to modules of the radio beacon, a display module in form of light-emitting diode indicators, two antennae, one of which is a receiving antenna and is connected to the receiver of navigation signals from GPS and/or GLONASS system, and a control panel, additionally has a simplex voice communication module and a receive-transmit switch; the control device is in form of a microcontroller with a resonator; the emergency transmitter is in form of a 406 MHz synthesiser, a phase modulator, a crystal oscillator and a power amplifier; the drive channel transmitter consists of audio and voice signal generating units, wherein the audio signal generating unit has a 121.5 MHz synthesiser, a crystal oscillator, a mixer and a power amplifier, the voice signal generating unit has a voice signal generator and a microphone; the simplex voice communication module consists of a voice signal receiver, a low-noise amplifier, an audio-frequency amplifier and a speaker; the autonomous power supply unit of the power supply also has an accumulator; the display module also has a liquid-crystal display; the second antenna is a transceiving antenna; the duplexer has a 121.5 MHz band-stop filter.

EFFECT: high accuracy of determining coordinates of an accident site, air disaster and faster search for victims and increase in reliability of the radio beacon.
