FIELD: plastic metal working, possibly manufacture of hollow parts. SUBSTANCE: axially symmetrical stepped envelope is made at least by two transitions and then it is deformed to envelope with spherical bottom. At first transition cylindrical sleeve with wide flange is made by clamping blank between shaping rings and moving it together with rings relative to stationary punch. At successive transitions cylindrical sleeve clamped between shaping rings is moved relative to stepped punch. EFFECT: possibility for making thin-wall envelopes of different materials, possibly of hard-to-deform materials by deep drawing without corrugations and with minimum thinning of formed material. 2 dwg
