WOMAN'S FABRIC HAT AND HAT MANUFACTURE METHOD Russian patent published in 2000 - IPC

FIELD: light industry. SUBSTANCE: woman's fabric hat with carcass base has head parts and brim parts of elastic material, backing with bottom, segment-shaped member made of elastic material and positioned in occipital part of hat, and edge extending along front part of head circle. Hat brim is provided with edging member. Method involves joining cutting parts to obtain ready article; forming segment-shaped member by cutting elliptical part and folding it in two along larger diameter; forming edge member by cutting narrow strip of backing or elastic material; lining it from the inside, between head part and backing; stitching them; turning inside of strip out relative to head part and stitching along the whole circle, with space between stitch and head edge being within the range of 3-5 mm; forming head brim edge by cutting upper and lower parts of brim; folding it so that face side is oriented inward; applying brim to carcass; stitching along brim outer edge at predetermined brim width; turning inside of upper part out onto lower part of brim. Such construction of hat provides compensation of sizes and retaining of hat on user's head in case of strong gust of wind.
