FIELD: hydrogenation catalysts. SUBSTANCE: catalyst consists of (i) active component (0.001-1.0%) selected from copper, chromium, and VIII group metals on (ii) fiberglass carrier made from amorphous silicon oxide and/or aluminum oxide fibers, and additionally, (iii) mono- or multicomponent stabilizer (0.001-2.0% on conversion to element) selected from boron, alkali or alkali-earth metals and (iv) promoter (0.001-2.0%) selected from tin, molybdenum, titanium, and tungsten. Catalyst shows high resistance against catalytic poisons: organosulfur compounds, phosphatides, etc. Continuous cotton oil hydrogenation process advances with stable activity in presence of catalyst in conformity of invention over a period above 1000 h. Besides, when tin, titanium, or tungsten promoter is added, olefin trans-isomers are formed 1.1-1.5-fold more than on prior-art catalyst, which improves hydrogenated fat properties and its subsequent workability. Products need no further filtration and meet all requirements. EFFECT: improved properties of hydrogenation products. 3 cl, 1 tbl, 8 ex
