FIELD: oil-and-fat industry, production of vegetable oils and fats. SUBSTANCE: proposed method can be carried out in three operational modes, namely: as continuous, semicontinuous or periodic process, under hydrogen pressure, at elevated temperature, in presence of catalyst consisting of silicon oxide and/or aluminium oxide amorphous filaments or fibres in form of woven or non-woven fabrics in combination with catalytically active metals Ni, Pd, Pt, Cu, Cr and Co. Individual fibres or filaments of fibrous catalyst have diameter 2-20 mcm, weight ratio of catalytically active metal-to-fibrous catalyst weight is within range 0.001-1.0 wt.%. Hydrogenation process is carried out at catalytically active metal-to-oil being hydrogenated oil weight ratio 0.001-0.05 wt.%. In course of oil hydrogenation, liquid reaction mass is pumped through stationary bed of fibrous catalyst, or, alternatively, fibrous catalyst is caused to move in relation to liquid reaction mass. EFFECT: high recovery percentages of oils and fats from vegetable stock. 5 cl
