FIELD: town transport power supply system; contact systems. SUBSTANCE: proposed section insulator consists of two insulating bars connected by metal pins with fitted-on moving elements, and arc quenching system. Moving elements are secured on pins being insulated from moving elements by coaxially arranged inner insulating bushings and insulated from bars by spacer insulating bushings installed at both sides of each moving element coaxially with inner insulating bushing. EFFECT: improved insulating characteristics of insulator and operation of arc-quenching system, enhanced reliability, increased service life of section insulator. 3 dwg
