SUBSTANCE: invention can be used in electrically insulated rail butt joint with fishplates made of composite material. Proposed insulated rail joint has end face insulation and fish plates made of composite material and arranged at both sides of rails. End face insulation consists of two similar parts, each having flat zone in butt gap and corresponding to profile of cross section of rail, and shaped part completely enclosing foot of one of butt jointed rails and also, from one of its sides, feather, lower support surface and neck to beginning of radius of conjugation with upper support surface. Fish plates made of composite material have zone of reduced cross-section corresponding to shaped part of end face insulation.

EFFECT: provision of effective general (relative to butt) electric insulation of butt joint, protection of closing of rail circuit by foreign metal objects and current carrying particles in zone of butt joint gap.
