FIELD: rocketry. SUBSTANCE: propellant cells have strong cord for taking-up load. Cells are inserted one into another and are assembled with the aid of latches which are released from grips when turned inside. Combustion chamber is made in form of cumulative recess. Cells have holes along axis of engine for placing nuclear rods in them; nuclear rods have additional sections for blowing with hydrogen. Propellant cells may be made in form of multi- beam star. Walls of members are reinforced over outer perimeter and combustion chamber is coated with initiating compound. Walls of cells are riffled. Cell is provided with electric starter. Ejection of first burning cell together with unburnt particles of propellant by second cell provides for smooth burning of grains. EFFECT: improved operating conditions of engine. 7 cl, 4 dwg
