FIELD: cigarette industry. SUBSTANCE: cigarette burning unit is used in hand-held device for filtering of side flow of cigarette smoke released during burning of cigarette in this unit, and has elongate closed combustion chamber for burning of cigarette. Part of lower wall of combustion chamber has air-permeable portion admitting air to flow into combustion chamber. Cigarette holder is fixed on the end of combustion chamber for holding burning cigarette in combustion chamber so that burning end of cigarette is spaced from inner surfaces of combustion chamber wall. Smoke side flow outlet opening is made at mentioned end of combustion chamber, above cigarette holder. Construction of receiver and combination of mentioned devices providing efficient filtering of smoke side flow are recited in Specification. Such construction allows cigarette ash to be prevented from being accumulated in filtering system. EFFECT: simplified construction and increased efficiency. 14 cl, 33 dwg
