FIELD: fire-fighting equipment, particularly stop-and-start heads installed on pump-actuated powder fire extinguishers. SUBSTANCE: stop-and-start head has body with fixed handle, movable handle installed on rocking axle, siphon tube, spraying nozzle and valve including thin-walled sleeve with through hole in wall and installed coaxially to siphon tube, rod with spring installed for rest with its one end on outer surface of sleeve bottom with inclination to common axis of sleeve and siphon tube, and with other end, moving in profiled groove on handle inner surface. Valve is separated from tube by metal membrane which is broken by punch in form of sleeve pointed edge when actuated by movable handle through rod. EFFECT: higher safety in prolonged storage of fire extinguisher and instantaneous detection of unauthorized use or attempt of use of fire extinguisher. 4 dwg
